I always feel sorry for people who make statements like "racism was hundreds of years ago" or even more ignorant comments, like "slavery was a choice." Both situations were not only traumatic but very real.

According to the Dallas Observer, white supremacy groups are still very much present here in Texas. A Texas-based white supremacy group and its leader have been ordered to pay Charles Murrell III, a musician and activist, $2.75 million after he was injured by the group during a Boston flash mob that took place in 2022. Charles will receive compensation not only for physical injuries but also for psychological injuries, pain and suffering, lost wages, future earnings, and damages caused by the group's actions.

JUSTICE IS SERVE!

Regional Director of ADL Texoma, Alex Horn, stated that "they applaud the U.S. District Judge's decision because the ruling makes it clear that hate-based violence will not be tolerated. While it remains to be seen whether this case will have a major impact on the group's future, civil cases have historically been a critical component in dismantling the operations of hate groups in the United States. "Charles Murrell stated that he remembers the time his grandparents explained how his family was haunted by the Ku Klux Klan, and that was the clarity he needed to understand why he had to speak out about this heinous situation. This is an unfortunate ordeal for anyone to endure, but knowing that there are still officials who understand and demand justice, it does provide some comfort.
