TikTok is addictive. There’s really no other word for it when it comes to me talking about that particular app. We have all been guilty of watching TikTok until 3 o’clock in the morning knowing that we had to go to work the next day, I’m sure of it.

If you’re glued to TikTok learning new recipes or laughing at the latest trends, that more than likely means that your children are too. TikTok has the potential to just be a fun way for people to entertain each other and connect, but there's a dark side to it as well that can have a strong negative effect on our children.

ANOTHER DANGEROUS TIKTOK TREND?

Do you remember the beginning of the school year when there was a TikTok challenge daring children to vandalize the bathrooms on campus?

You would think that would be such a dumb challenge that no one in their right mind would participate, but it caught on.

Now there’s a new challenge that authorities are saying to be aware of because it can cause extreme harm to you. According to the Killeen Daily Herald, the latest moronic TikTok challenge encourages kids to fire toy beads at strangers. It's called the "Orbeezs challenge" because it involves polymer water beads you can freeze, then shoot them at strangers.

LET'S PUT AN END TO DANGEROUS TRENDS!

This is extremely dangerous, and it could end badly for anybody’s child doing this. We already have enough issues with just gun violence, let alone thinking that this joke would not be treated as something serious. It’s just flat out dumb.

Parents, I suggest you have conversations with your children on why this is unacceptable and extremely dangerous before someone gets hurt.
