This year's BET Awards wasn't your traditional awards show considering the current times we're in but across social media the sharply produced show packed with slick video performances, was a big hit.

Amanda Seales hosted the show with performances by Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne and more, honoring the biggest names in sports, entertainment and activism. The show was packed with amazing and powerful performances and here are 3 of my favorites:

1. "Fight The Power" Intro: Setting the TONE for the entire night was hip hop legends Public Enemy revamping and remixing their classic anthem "Fight The Power" with help from hip hop stars Nas, Rapsody, Black Thought, Jahi and YG. A powerful reminder that the fight for equality continues.

2. Anderson Paak & Jay Rock "Lockdown": West Coast stars Anderson Paak and Jay Rock delivered a great performance of Paak's latest track "Lockdown" which talks about the current state of the world from the BLM protests to the COVID-19 pandemic.

3. Jennifer Hudson "Young Gifted & Black": As she prepares for her starring role as the "Queen Of Soul" Aretha Franklin in the biopic "Respect", J-Hud delivered one of Aretha's classics and is clearly proving that she was born to play that role.

If you missed the show you can catch replays all week long on BET or on demand on their website where you can also see a list of winners (yes they did give away trophies). What was your favorite performance?
