With the current pandemic pretty much putting every kind of "event" on hold during the summer, its been tough to find things to keep yourself and your family entertained. The challenge is finding things to do without being around too many other human beings.

My family has been for the most part "quarantining" at home since the pandemic began. Besides work and essential runs, we've done what we're "supposed" to do to help limit the spread of the virus but at the same time, being in the house all day can get exhausting and downright stressful so we decided to head out to a place where we can properly social distance from others and thanks to a "reservation" process, were limited from being around a "crowd" of people.

So we headed out a little less than 2 hours away from Killeen to nearby Wimberley in the Texas Hill Country to dive into Jacob's Well. Jacob’s Well is an artesian spring that releases thousands of gallons of water a day and its the second-largest fully submerged cave in Texas. You can also enjoy hiking some of the beautiful trails around the well which has 81 acres surrounding it.

To say that my family enjoyed diving into the well is an understatement.

Its one of the top places in Texas to take a dip into on a HOT Texas day but the only way you can get in to swim is by making a reservation. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, hiking may be monitored and swimming reservations maybe limited to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

If you're ready to take the plunge, visit the Hays County Parks website and make your reservation quickly!
