McDonald’s Offering MacCoins For Free Big Macs

McDonald's is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its signature "Big Mac" in a unique way, by creating its own currency.

According to a press release from the fast food giant, beginning at lunch time August 2nd, customers can receive a "MacCoin" with the purchase of a Big Mac at 14,000 participating restaurants across the U.S., while supplies last. Then on August 3rd, you can redeem the "MacCoin" for a free Big Mac at participating McDonald's through the rest of 2018.

The limited edition collectible coins will have 5 unique designs to commemorate each decade of the Big Mac from the 70's to now and more than 6.2 million MacCoins will be distributed globally.
