Why Lampasas County is Losing Its Passport Services
Many of us in Central Texas make the trip to Lampasas County for passport services because it's simply more convenient. If you're looking to travel internationally, the number one hack in Central Texas is to go to Lampasas County. Why? Because it's a small town, which means there are rarely long or hectic lines — you're usually in and out quickly.

How the Potential Loss of Passport Services Will Impact Lampasas County
Unfortunately, this convenience may soon come to an end, according to KXXV. Lampasas County may need to discontinue offering passport services due to upcoming staff reductions. Nearly ten years ago, the district clerk’s office began offering local passport processing services. This not only made things easier for Central Texans but also brought extra revenue into the community.
Passport Application Process to Change Drastically for Lampasas Residents
Residents feel this potential change is unnecessary — the population isn't decreasing; it's growing. When KXXV spoke with one resident, he said, "We are a community of working people. A lot of us don’t have the luxury of taking half a day off work to renew or apply for our passports."The idea of staff cuts has left many in the community feeling concerned and anxious. Traveling internationally may become more difficult for Texans shortly.
