Lake Brazos is a symbol of both Waco and Central Texas. Many in the area go there for multiple activities, like fishing or boating for example. But, some that frequent the lake will see water levels move in random ways.

What Is Causing The Water Levels In Lake Brazos To Change?

Water in the Lake is set to change starting on July 25th, 2025 and continue until the second week of August. According to the official website for the city of Waco, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is driving force behind this, with the main reasoning for it being upkeep for infrastructure. Overall, water levels will decrease between 2 and 3 feet during this time period.

But, the water won't simply affected, the way water flows will also be different. Water may get faster if USACE needs to make sure that the Waco power grid needs faster flow. So it's important to keep an eye on everything if you are to be on the lake.

If You're On Lake Brazos, What Should You Be Aware Of?

While boating on Lake Brazos during this time period, it's very vital to watch everything while enjoying your time there. Especially if you have items near the water and could be lost if not stowed properly. Also, making sure you're smart and safe and staying away from "low-level" areas is good idea as well during the period.

So, make sure to be aware of the water levels in Lake Brazos. But, still make sure to have some fun of course!
