Jay-Z and Beyonce Win Best Urban Contemporary Album for ‘Everything Is Love’ at 2019 Grammy Awards
Jay-Z and Beyoncé take home the award for Best Urban Contemporary Album for their joint LP, Everything Is Love, at the 2019 Grammy Awards.
On Sunday (Feb. 10), The Carters' joint album, which include smash hits like "Apeshit" and "Summer" beat out other nominees like Chloe x Halle and Miguel in the category. The album was also nominated for Best R&B Performance and Best Music Video.
Hov and Bey dropped their surprise joint album in June of 2018, after addressing their marital issues on their respective solo albums, 4:44 and Lemonade. Everything Is Love is a nine-track LP featuring songs produced by Cool-N-Dre, Pharrell, Boi-1da, Sevn Thomas and more. Soon after they dropped the album, The Carters took over the Louvre in Paris, France and posed in front of iconic works of art. As a result, the video helped attract 10 million visitors to the museum.
The Louvre also offers a self-guided audio tour based on their stand-out single. The museum gives visitors a 90-minute tour of the 17 memorable works of art that has a cameo in the viral music video. Throughout the tour, visitors can read up on the history of every painting such as the Portrait of a Black Woman, Great Sphnix of Tanis, Venus de Milo, Mona Lisa and more. Although the tour is only available in French at the moment, more languages are expected to appear soon.
Congratulations to Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
