You Could Provide Closure In This 1984 Belton, Texas Cold Case

It's a feeling many in Texas law enforcement never want to feel. They've been working to find a culprit to any case, for any crime, and suddenly, the trail goes cold. When that lead vanishes, it becomes much harder to discover who committed the act.

Sadly, some cases in the state lose their trails, and remain a mystery to this day. Some of those cases happen right here in Central Texas. For almost 40 years, this incident has remained under investigation.

This is the case of Mary Harris, who's life was taken by an unknown individual.

The Killing Of Mary Harris

According to Texas DPS, at the beginning of the year 1984, Mary separated from her significant other on January 5th, 1984. 2 months later, on March 10th of 1984, the mother of three was discovered in the convenience store were she worked, having being shot in the back of the head once.

Mary however did survive the shooting. But later, in November of 1984, Mary passed away due from further issues caused by the wound she sustained. Since her death, Mary's case has not closed, and no suspect named.

However, there were clues left behind that could help lead to the capture of the culprit.

Evidence That Could Help Lead To The Guilty Party

Texas DPS listed that potential criminal has these features:

- White male
- Dark complexion
- 30 to 40 years of age
- Black hair
- Shabby beard

The vehicle the unknown individual drove was also as a gold/brownish long vehicle that had damage on the left back quarter panel.
