Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo Returns Next Week

Here comes the annual Heart O' Texas Fair and Rodeo!

This year's theme is "Rodeo for the whole herd". That means that children 8 and younger will now be able to get into the fair for free! It used to be 3 and younger.

The annual Heart O’ Texas Fair and Rodeo kicks off next week and officials touted some changes Wednesday that people will notice. Tickets prices have gone up at the gate but there is no price increase if you buy tickets in advance online. If you do that, you'll pay the same price as last year.

The nine-day event helps to raise near a quarter of a million dollars for student scholarships. Big changes are on the way for 2019. Next spring a multimillion-dollar expansion of the fairgrounds. A new exhibition hall is being built on the site to replace the original center built in 1952.

It's the largest renovation to the fairgrounds since air conditioning was installed in 1999.

Concerts at the 2018 Heart O' Texas Fair and Rodeo include Kevin Fowler, Koe Wetzel, Mike Ryan, Flatland Cavalry, Dylan Scott, and Whiskey Meyers. See the complete fair schedule here.
