Ghislaine Maxwell is quietly making moves, according to the New York Post. She has reportedly been transferred to a cushy Texas prison camp often referred to as “Club Fed,” while allegedly attempting to negotiate a deal to disclose information related to sex crimes she committed with her now-deceased partner, Jeffrey Epstein.

Maxwell was convicted of child trafficking and had been incarcerated in Florida. However, she has now been moved to a less restrictive, minimum-security facility in Bryan, Texas. As of Friday, the Federal Bureau of Prisons has not provided any official explanation for her transfer. Her attorney, David Oscar Markus, confirmed the move but declined to offer further comment, stating, “We can confirm that she has moved, but we have no comment at this time.” Markus also did not elaborate on the nature of the transfer or the reasons behind it.

Interestingly, the transfer was reportedly handled by Bureau of Prisons officials rather than U.S. Marshals, which has raised some eyebrows. Maxwell is now housed in the same facility as Elizabeth Holmes, the disgraced founder of Theranos, who is serving time for defrauding investors. As for Maxwell's future, it's uncertain. But one thing is clear: the phrase “Don’t mess with Texas” isn’t just a slogan. While the prison may be minimum security, those familiar with Texas law enforcement know there's little tolerance for disrespect or misconduct. Maxwell would be wise to stay on her best behavior and mind her Ps and Qs.
