Fall Stream Cleanup Event Is Coming To Killeen, Texas
The city of Killeen released a statement on Thursday, September 12 inviting volunteers to join them for the Fall Stream Cleanup. The Killeen Engineered Department's Stormwater division will host this year’s fall cleanup on September 28 at Andy K Wells, hike, and Trail from 9 AM until noon.
LETS GET READY TO CLEAN UP KILLEEN
Volunteers and residents will help clean the ditches along Nolan Creek and help the city's drainage area go into the creeks or rivers. Of course, keeping central Texas clean is something we should do just because it’s our community and we want to make sure that everyone enjoys it properly, but cleaning out these particular areas helps keep waterways clear from trash and remove trash that can float and other items that may carry other pollutants.
If you want to participate and volunteer for this event, you can just check on the city's website where there is no pre-registration. Volunteers are asked to meet at Mickey’s Dog Park located at 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd.
