Rhodes has been charged with a long list of felonies, including two counts of aggravated kidnapping, two counts of aggravated sexual assault, two counts of aggravated robbery, burglary of a habitation, theft of a firearm, unlawful restraint of a public servant, and tampering/fabrication of physical evidence, in addition to 10 other felony charges. The incident began on Wednesday, October 11, when a 911 call came through from a woman pleading that she had been robbed. The call was traced to a residence in the 500 block of Tanner Trail in Pflugerville before it was disconnected.
Responding officers saw a man, later identified as Rhodes, run inside the home through the front door before exiting through the back door and jumping a fence. When police spoke with the women, they explained that they were just returning home from a night out when they encountered an unknown man, Rhodes, inside their residence. The victims stated that the man pointed a gun at them and demanded money. The suspect allegedly told the victims he was glad there were two of them because he could use them as "leverage against each other."

Police stated that the victims drove to an ATM to withdraw money for the man, but this was reportedly not enough. When they returned to the residence, the man allegedly made them perform a factory reset on their laptops and repeat a phrase about "crossing her heart and hoping to die" regarding the data being untraceable. Shortly after this occurred, police were inside the residence, which is when Rhodes fled out the back door. Rhodes was quickly apprehended. In his possession, he had a loaded gun magazine with 15 live rounds, a ski mask, and a black Glock 19 9mm pistol that was later determined to be stolen. After the victims gave detectives their statements about the sexual assault, DNA was collected during the execution of a search warrant. Rhodes is currently being held in the Travis County jail on a total bond of $1 million.
