Killeen Fire Department Chief, James Kubinski says," The Killeen Fire Department is very honored to be recognized by the American Heart Association for our dedication to providing optimal care for heart attack patients". Knowing that heart disease and heart complications are the number one killer in the state of Texas, I am truly proud that our very own Killeen Fire Department receives such an outstanding award, the whole department should be very proud.

People all over the United States each day, find themselves sadly, losing a loved one or their very own life due to heart attacks and strokes, so for our Killeen Fire Department to be awarded this amazing award should not go unnoticed. I think a lot of times people don’t realize how hard a first responders occupation really is. Every day these brave individuals put their lives on the line while going out of their way to try to save ours. Congratulations to the  Killeen Fire Department you have made us proud.

Top 20 Restaurants Central Texans Wish Would Come to Temple

A while back, I asked the good people of Temple if they could picture a good restaurant to fill the lot on North General Bruce Drive where the soon to be torn down Long John Silver's stood.

This was before it was announced that a Dutch Bros. Coffee location would open there (which was one of the places I predicted as a contender in our article).

So now Dutch Bros. is open in that spot, but the responses to my survey were interesting because they paint a picture of just how diverse Temple's population is. People recommended some familiar restaurants with locations in the surrounding area, but also a few I'd never even heard of.

Here are the top 20 results of the survey. Let's see what the good people of Temple are craving!
