(Killeen, Texas) - The City of Killeen's Holiday Under The Stars weekend is back! They have five shiny events lined up for everyone to enjoy. I of course have the scoop, and I'm going to share the weekend lineup with you.

Friday Dec. 2

Holiday Market

Ok, let’s let’s start with Friday. Beginning at 5:30pm on Dec. 2, the Holiday Market begins. This will be in Downtown Killeen, and will run until 8:30pm. What I'm excited about is the holiday themed arts and crafts, as well as food vendors and a ton of other things to see down there.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

Don’t miss the tree lighting ceremony that will be at 7pm Friday. Killeen Mayor Debbie Nash and Santa Claus will be heading to Santa Fe Plaza, over on D Ave., at around 6:50pm so they can lead the countdown.

Saturday, Dec. 3

Jingle Bell Dash 5K

Ok, if you you're going to be running around anyway on Saturday, you might as well get your run or walk on with some bells at the Jingle Bell Dash 5K. The fun begins bright and early at 8am. Now, this is a Centex race series, so you know it will be a fun run indeed. It's going to be held at the Andy K. Wells Hike and Bike Trail. The cost is $25, and you can register on the same day, because online registration is closed. Check it out here.

Christmas Parade

I’m sure you all are already tracking the annual Christmas Parade which begins at 1pm on Saturday.  Of course it will start on Ave C, near 2nd St. It will travel east on Ave C, then head north on 8th St. to Church Ave. It will travel west on Church Ave, and then finish up on Root Ave. So, get to your favorite spots early so you can get a great view.

Festival Of Holidays

Last and certainly not least, you can just spend the rest of Saturday in the downtown area. The City of Killeen brings you the "Festival of Holidays" from 3pm - 8pm. You can expect to get free pics with Santa Claus and do some ice skating. The kiddos can play on the Christmas inflatables, and make arts and crafts. There will be interactive games, a snow show, live entertainment, food trucks, merchants, and free s’mores (while supplies last). The festival will take place on Ave D, between Gray St. and 8th St.

There You Have It

A pre-planned fun packed weekend for you. Hope to see you all there. If you happen to get some cool pictures, download our free app, tap the chat button and send them to me. I'll share them on our Facebook Page. Have Fun and be safe.
