Celebrate: This Texas Game Warden K9 is Retiring

A life of rest and relaxation - that's what Game Warden K9 Ruger has ahead of him.

According to a post from the Texas Game Wardens, K9 Ruger has officially entered into retirement! A big congratulations to this good boy for a job well done! Also, as a millennial, I'm just a tad bit jealous that Ruger actually gets the opportunity to retire.

K9 Ruger has served the State of Texas since 2013. Based on ruff-estimations, I'd say that's about 49 dog years, which makes retirement definitely well-deserved! This pup also boasts quite the resume. Ruger is certified in police search and rescue, evidence article recovery, tracking, collapsed building searches, and narcotics.

Of course there's always a good woman behind this type of guy, and it's none other than partner Texas Game Warden K9 Handler, Captain Christy Vales. Together the two demonstrated Ruger's specials skills for the public, where he was known to enjoy the limelight.

Ruger will spend his days of retirement with partner and friend, Captain Christy Vales.
