You're invited to a free celebration in Downtown Temple Tuesday, October 8 from 5 PM to 8 PM.

It's the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Santa Fe Plaza, 301 Santa Fe Way. If you haven't seen the new plaza, it's absolutely beautiful and is sure to become a popular spot for Downtown celebrations going forward. If you have seen it but haven't been inside any of the new buildings, you're in luck - they'll be offering free tours that night.

In addition to the tours, they'll have live music, including performances from the Temple High School band, cheerleaders, and dance team. Popular local food trucks will be there too, so plan to have a great meal with your family as you enjoy the festivities.

On Friday, October 18, you can visit the new Santa Fe Plaza again as the City of Temple presents a free outdoor screening of Tim Burton's comedy horror masterpiece 'Beetlejuice'. Costumes are encouraged, so don your spooky duds for what's essentially an early Halloween celebration. Activities begin at 6:30 PM, and the movie is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM or when the sun goes down.

So many great things are happening in Downtown Temple, and the new Santa Fe Plaza is sure to be a hot spot downtown for years to come.
