Bruceville-Eddy Teacher’s Quick Thinking Keeps Student in Competition
In Texas, we all have somebody we've looked up to. Our parents are always a good example, but teachers, grandparents, and individuals who have mentored us. For one teacher in Bruceville-Eddy, Texas, he made a massive save for one student that she'll remember for a long time.
What Happened For One Bruceville-Eddy Student?
As revealed by KWTX, Skylar Huffman-Terry of Bruceville-Eddy was ready to compete in the Area 8 Contest Career Development Event, taking place at Tarleton State University. However, a problem quickly arose: Huffman-Terry was not in possession of a collared shirt. Without one, Huffman-Terry wouldn't be able to compete.
What could Huffman-Terry do? With no way to get a shirt quickly, it seems like all hope was lost. Then, Huffman-Terry's fortunes were helped by her teacher, Sean Sammon.

What Did Sean Sammon Do To Save The Day?
Sammon is the teacher of Huffman-Terry. In moment of quick thinking, Sammon gave the polo he was wearing to Huffman-Terry. As told by Sammon to KWTX:
“I wanted her to be able to compete...That’s one of the things they require and that’s something I felt like needed to happen so she could compete.”
Huffman-Terry was overjoyed to say the least:
“He actually cares, and he’s been there since my junior high year years...He has always supported us and helped us in our LDE (leadership development events) and CDE’s (career development events) and all of our agriculture events.”
While Huffman-Terry didn't take the top spot, we all won by learning about being kind to one another!
