If you bought chicken between 2009 in 2020, then chances are you may be eligible for some money!

The $180 million class-action settlement includes Fieldale farms corporation- Georges, Tyson foods, Pilgrims Pride, Mar-Jac poultry, and Peco foods.

Prosecutors allege that by violating federal and state consumer anti-trust laws,  these corporations conspired to stabilize the price and supply of chicken as told in the press release put out Tuesday.

WGN reports that if you purchased fresh or frozen raw chicken in California, D.C., Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah and Wisconsin, you could be part of the suit.

Sorry, Texas. Apparently no laws were broken here, and the chicken is good in the Lone Star State. But if you happened to have bought some chicken in one of the states mentioned above while you were on vacation or before you moved here, maybe you've got a case. Just hope you held onto the receipt!

How much money is owed each person that has consumed chicken is still yet to be determined (I assume about two bucks each), but Tyson is reportedly paying the bulk of the settlement, which comes out to $99,000,000.

If you've lived in these states in the past decade and still have friends and family there, chances are because of them buying "the holy bird", you may get a little extra money in your pockets!
