40 years ago today (June 16th) The Jackson family solidified its place as America's first family of entertainment with their own 30-minute variety show which premiered on this day in 1976.

The show starred all of the Jackson siblings except for Jermaine who signed with Motown while the rest of the family moved over to a different label. The show featured the family performing musical numbers and comedy skits with celebrities including Redd Foxx, Betty White and Muhammad Ali.
