Locals Claim Belton Lake Maybe Cursed By An Under Water Lost Town
Belton Lake is the go-to spot for barbecuing, swimming, paddle boats, and camping here in Central Texas—but what if I told you that it actually holds a possible spooky secret? According to Texas Escapes, right under the lake where families have some of the most fun lies an actual ghost town.

I spoke with some Belton residents who said their grandparents claimed you could hear the screams of the townspeople who chose to stay behind, now I don't know how true that is, but you must admit that is very interesting. There have been reports of drownings, unexplained phenomena, and strange accidents happening at Lake Belton. But the question remains: this underwater town that no one speaks of anymore—was it simply abandoned, or is it truly cursed?
