The Arrest That Rocked the Bell County Sheriff’s Office
Christopher Roberto Ellis, a Bell County Sheriff’s Lieutenant, was recently placed in a surprising — and embarrassing — predicament when he was arrested and suspended in Temple, Texas, according to KWTX.

A Lieutenant's Fall: Charged with Assaulting a Relative
Sheriff Bill Cooke stated that Ellis was arrested and booked into the Bell County Jail by the Temple Police Department. He is currently facing charges of assaulting a family member causing bodily injury. Officials also noted that additional charges may be reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office.
Sheriff Cooke further stated that Ellis will be suspended while the Sheriff's Office conducts a thorough internal investigation.Ellis, who has been a part of the Bell County Sheriff's Office for 10 years, was serving as a lieutenant in the Mental Health Unit at the time of his arrest.
