Frightening news took place when according to KXAN reported that a Texas 17-year-old girl by the name of Giana Castillo allegedly attempted to prepare a shooting at an elementary school. It was reported that the 17-year-old allegedly made online threats against an Austin elementary school. Once the FBI received the information, it was quickly identified that Giana Castillo was making concerning statements online regarding the planning of an active shooter event at Graham Elementary School.

It was requested that the FBI track the IP address of Castillo's account and investigators realized the user had a strange interest in previous active shooters and posted concerning statements according to documents. There was an affidavit that stated Gianna, Costello, also planned to kill her entire family before going to the school campus, Castillo was very familiar with the school as she attended Graham Elementary from 2013 until 2017. Austin Independent School District stated that there was a threat to one of their elementary schools which caused this emergency response.

Castillo was arrested, and Castillo‘s parents are now cooperating with law enforcement because of the threats that were made, Austin Independent School District has added more enforcement at the Graham Elementary campus. These are very serious charges that Castillo could be facing such as terroristic threats, which is a third-degree felony. The 17-year-old is booked into the Travis County jails and her bail as of right now is said to be $100,000 according to the inmate records.
