A Pregnant Mother In Texas Was Issued A Warrant For Her Arrest Due To An Overdue Library Book
The saying, don’t mess with Texas really should be don’t mess with Texas because you can find yourself in the weirdest predicament. I’m all about obeying the law and being a law-abiding citizen, but Kaylee Morgan's story is by far one of the silliest stories that’s happened here in the great state.
I'M SORRY ITS A WARRANT FOR WHAT NOW?
According to PEOPLE, if you’re a book lover here in the great state of Texas, you better make sure once you’re done reading that book you put it back where you got it because you could find yourself in a whole lot of trouble. In 2023 Kaylee Morgan decided to check out a couple of books to homeschool her babies from Navasota public library here in Texas. Like any other busy mom who happens to be pregnant, Morgan kind of lost track of a lot of things due to the kids and morning sickness, which means she failed to return the books on time, even though Kaylee Morgan’s husband did return most of the books because he forgot one book, something unbelievable was about to happen.
IF YOU CAN'T DO THE TIME, DONT DO THE CRIME
Even though the library reached out for Kaylee to turn in the book, she had moved, so she never received the message, and because of that Kaylee Morgan found out very quickly that she had a warrant for her arrest for theft of government property when she tried to attempt to renew her license. When Kaylee first discovered she had a warrant for her arrest she genuinely laughed out loud and thought it was a joke, but it was no joking matter that she owed a fine of $570. Even though Morgan tried to plead to the judge on what happened the judge felt as if Kaylee was just making excuses, and wanted her to take accountability for the crime. Kaylee wasn’t a bank robber or even a threat to the community but to the judge, she was a thief. Kaylee has started a GoFundMe account to hire a lawyer to fight this ticket. $570 is a lot of money for an accident in my opinion.
