The city of Killeen welcomed, a Bright Speed Internet network recently according to KWTX. It was revealed on Monday that its network of fiber optic cables was unveiled to the city of Killeen.

Bright Speed is considered an important asset to the city of Killeen because existing Internet service providers were not covering some residents living in certain areas, said Mayor Debbie Nash-King. Mayor Debbie Nash-King stated that in the city of Killeen, "there’s just certain parts where Internet service is just very difficult to receive and Scott Stinger, who is Bright Speed Governmental Affairs region Director says there are plans to cover every resident in the city.

"Our intention to eventually serve the entire population and services to Killeen was part of the company's plan to connect rural America. Stringer also stated that the Bright Speed plan is to bring much fiber Internet as we speak to the rural American. Nash-King says it will help with businesses, healthcare, and most importantly education the mayor is very excited about the new improvements happening in the city and Bright Speend has plans to also expand to other cities in central Texas like Nolanville, Harker Heights, Little River, Academy, Gatesville, Copperas Cove, Holland, and even the military base here in Central Texas, Fort Cavazo.
