While Central Texas has seen a new restaurant" boom in recent months, one well-known dining chain announced that they are going to be closing some of their locations soon.

According to WFAA, Applebee's parent company DineEquity announced plans to close 105 to 135 locations this year due to declining sales. Those closures will be based on criteria including profitability, operational results, and quality standards.

Central Texas has 3 Applebee's locations in Killeen, Copperas Cove, and Temple. According to Applebee's website, the company operates over 1800 restaurants. A list of potential closures has not been released, but we'll keep you posted.
