Why I-35 is the Absolute Worst

Highway driving in Texas is horrific, especially if you have to drive down I-35.

If you commute to your job by taking I-35 everyday, then I feel your pain! Driving down I-35 is horrible, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. This weekend I felt the wrath of this terrible highway once again.

Construction of course has been going on since the beginning of time here in Central Texas, and it has wreaked havoc on my poor little car more than once. I have a 2013 Chevy Cruze. It's a nice small car. Not too new, not very old, and for the most part, very reliable. Unfortunately though, I drive from Waco to Temple every day, and the highway has not been forgiving.

The rear bumper on my driver's side had some broken clips, but was easily able to be popped into place. My plan was to buy more clips, or maybe even rig it in place with some super glue. (I'm a girl, don't judge me too harshly.) The thing is, I never got around to doing it because I didn't think it was something that was urgent.

Boy was I wrong!

This weekend when I was traveling back home from work, I heard a strange whoosh! I looked in my mirrors and saw something behind my car. I pulled over only to find that the wind had ripped my poor bumper off, and it was left basically hanging by a thread. I had to pull off the bumper and throw it in my backseat.

From there I did the drive home in shame. My car looks horrible, and I am so so sad! Curse you I-35! What's the worst car damage you've received on I-35?
