
Water Alert: Boil Water Notice in Effect for E. Central Texas Expressway
The City of Killeen has issued an emergency boil water notice for the following addresses along East Central Texas Expressway: 1723, 1801, 2301, 2303, 2309, 2401, and 2601. This notice is in response to a water main break that has occurred in the area. City water crews will be on-site to isolate the affected water main and complete necessary repairs. Specifically, the repair work involves replacing a section of the waterline with a 2-inch commercial water tap.

Crews will remain on-site until all repairs have been completed and water service is fully restored. Once the repairs are finished, water quality samples will be collected within 24 to 48 hours to ensure the system is safe. Until these results confirm that there is no contamination, all residents in the affected area are advised to boil water prior to consumption. This includes water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, and brushing teeth.

The boil water notice will remain in effect until the City of Killeen announces that it has been officially lifted.
