According to the New York Post, the bride Claire Kendall Taetz, stated about the situation:

“I was confused but also trying to stay present because it was an important moment so I tried to focus on my soon-to-be husband and on the officiate...My husband was concerned as well and in the video you can see he was trying to lock in, despite the child fussing loudly.”

The mother of the bride, and other during the moment, even tried to get the person holding the child to leave, but the person declined due to the fact "he drove 10 hours to see the wedding."
