U.S. Postal Service Honors Marvin Gaye With Postage Stamp
The late great Marvin Gaye would have turned 80 years old this week but his timeless music and legacy continues to live on. Known by many as "The Prince Of Soul" Gaye was one of the most influential performers of his generation. The U.S. Postage Service has released a new collectible postage to commemorate his memory.
As part of their "Music Icons" series, Gaye's stamp is now available for purchase online at usps.com. The stamp design features a portrait of Gaye inspired by historic photographs. The stamp sheet is designed to resemble a vintage vinyl record sleeve.
Meanwhile the Marvin Gaye estate just released what many consider to be Gaye's "lost" album, his 1972 follow up to "What's Going On" called "You're The Man" which is available on streaming services.
The album contains 17 tracks and features the entire unreleased album and a few remixes of previously unfinished songs. Take a listen and let us know what you think about it!
