Two Texas Men Die Attempting to Jump Bridge in Louisiana
I've heard tell that nothing good happens after midnight. I've also heard tell that nothing good ever happens in Lousiana. In this case, two negatives do not make a positive.
KLPC is reporting that two men from Texas died attempting to jump the Black Bayou Bridge Friday morning around 2 a.m.
The bridge raises up to allow boat traffic through, leaving about 165 feet of space. A witness told police that the passenger of the doomed vehicle got out and raised the traffic stop arm. He then got back in the vehicle and drove toward the ramp. The car landed in the water. The driver was found in the vehicle, while the passenger was found outside of it. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased "Hooper" want-a-bees were Alejandro Cazares, 23, of McAllen, Texas, and Roberto Alejandro Moreno, 32, of Edinburg, Texas.
It's being reported that they sent their blood to a lab to see if alcohol was involved. Does this test really need to be done?
