Governor Greg Abbott has told the Texas State Operations Center to prepare for a Tropical Depression that could impact the Texas coast by the weekend.

KWTX News 10 reports Abbott says, "We are closely monitoring a tropical system expected to approach the Gulf of Mexico and potentially impact the Texas coast in the coming day." Texas has seen lots of rain since the final week of August and the depression about to enter the gulf appears to be a serious rainmaker. Flash flooding along the coast is definitely a concern.

The National Hurricane Center has tagged the storm with the name Invest 95L and says the depression could impact parts of Texas, Louisiana, and northeastern Mexico. So far, this storm as a medium chance of developing into a Tropical Storm or worse.
