Trey Songz rejected a plea deal a few days ago after being charged with destruction of property, resisting arrest and felony assault for allegedly punching a Detroit police sergeant. According to the officer, he suffered a concussion after being hit.

Back in December, Songz seemingly had a meltdown at a show and started tossing equipment off the stage. Afterwards, police came to his dressing room to arrest him, and that's when he was accused of hitting the officer.

If the R&B star would've accepted the plea deal, his felony charge would've been knocked down to a misdemeanor. He also would've had to pled guilty to one count of obstruction and one count of attempted resisting. Plus, he would've served two years of probation, had to take mandatory drug testing and attend anger management classes.

Right now, the case is still open and if eventually convicted Songz could spend up to four years in prison for the felony assault, plus, another year for a misdemeanor count of aggravated assault.

Reportedly, the deal is still being offered, so the Virginia native could change his mind if he chooses, but for now he's going with a not guilty plea.

"We just got the offer today," said Trey's co-counsel Charles Longstreet.
