This Georgetown Teacher Living In Temple Was Arrested For Child Sex Abuse
A Georgetown teacher who resides in Temple has been placed on administrative leave following a police report of sexual abuse.
According to a report from FOX 44, Temple police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Honey Hill Drive on Saturday, September 25. Officers arrested Cory Bounds, 35, for the sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl.
Bounds Is A Teacher In Our Community
Bounds is employed by Georgetown ISD, and a previous web post stated that Bounds is a 6th grade Technology Applications teacher and boys' coach.
Georgetown ISD told KXAN that they have placed Bounds on administrative leave pending the investigation.
The school district also wants the community to be aware that allegations against Bounds do not involve any students in Georgetown.
911 Report
According to CBS Austin, the alleged incident was reported by a 911 caller. No additional details have been provided to identify the caller.
It has been reported that the victim and suspect knew one another.
Facing Major Charges
The Bell County Jail website states that Bounds has been charged with indecency with a child, which is a second-degree felony.
As of Wednesday, September 29, Bounds was still incarcerated with a $100,000 bond.
