The Journey Continues: Killeen Star Rose Short Makes The Voice Top 13
The ride continues for Killeen singer Rose Short as she moves on to the next round of the NBC singing competition "The Voice"!
The results were revealed Tuesday night and Rose was one of the top vote earners for "Team Gwen" which earned her automatic advancement into "The Top 13". With Rose being one of the top singers on the show based on votes, its clear that the rest of America is starting to recognize what Central Texas already knows, that Rose is a star!
Let's take a quick look back at Rose's journey so far:
Rose blew away coaches Kelly Clarkson and Gwen Stefani for her blind audition performing coach John Legend's song "Preach". It was when Kelly Clarkson made a prophetic statement:
You should be in the finale, you could win this show, like you're that great!
Rose moved on to the "Battle Round" where she had to battle up against competitor Jessie Lawrence to move onto the next round. While Jessie did his thing, Rose blew away "Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd to move on to the Knockout round.
It was Rose's performance in the Knockout round that immediately put the rest of America on notice that she is not here to play with yall. Covering a deep album cut from artist "Jessie J" called "Big White Room" the winning performance received national attention including an article in Billboard Magazine.
Rose made it to "The Top 20 playoffs" where she performed Janet Jackson's "What Have You Done For Me Lately" and America clearly enjoyed her performance as they voted her into shows Top 13.
Next up, Rose will perform on "The Live Shows" where the top artists will compete each week against each other during a live broadcast. The television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. The artists with the lowest number of votes will be eligible for the "Instant Save." These artists will each perform a new song that represents why they should earn the save but the singers with the lowest number of votes will be sent home each week.
In the end, only one singer can be named "The Voice" and win the grand prize of a recording contract.
So if you want to vote next week for Rose, you can do so using The Voice app or go to NBC.com every week and vote!
We extend congratulations once again to Rose and just know you already got our vote!
