Winter Weather Warnings: Snowfall in Texas Is Here
This week marks the beginning of 2025 in Texas, and snow has arrived in the state. According to the Austin American-Statesman, the winter storm currently affecting Texans could be among the most significant in the state's history which can be scary for Texas.
WINTER HAS MADE IT WAY TO THE STATE OF TEXAS
It is expected to deliver at least 2 to 3 inches of snow on Wednesday and Thursday nights. In Central Texas, Wednesday night was relatively dry with minimal snowfall, but there were dramatic wind chills. On Friday, between 9 PM and 7 AM, Dallas is forecasted to have a 54% chance of receiving 3 to 6 inches of snow and a 42% chance of getting 1 to 3 inches, according to AccuWeather. Even one inch of snow in Texas would be so bizarre, so can you imagine 3 to 6 inches of snow here in Texas?
WHAT DOES TEXAS NEED TO LOOK FORWARD TO DURING THE WINTER STORM?
This could potentially be the largest snowstorm in the Dallas metro area since the 12.5 inches recorded in February 2010, though many regions across Texas may not receive snow at all. There is a significant risk of ice formation and other hazards due to the weather. Travelers are advised that conditions could be dangerous, and the accumulation of trees and power lines may lead to power outages. Texans are urged to stay warm and only venture outside if necessary.
