The Waco police department stated that Frank Carter’s drag boat caught air and dramatically flipped while traveling over 100 mph which threw Carter into the water. It was reported that the medical team retrieved Frank Carter from the water in over a minute, but unfortunately was not able to save him and Frank Carter was reported dead at the scene.

SDBA and the Trinity racing ministry visited the dual on the Brazo this past weekend and released a statement saying in so many words it was heavy on their heart to announce that Frank Carter was involved in the accident that took his life. Frank Carter's son told  6News that his father lived his life to the fullest and he went out doing something loved. Cater also mentioned that he was a good man and loved his family. Texas Department of Public Safety Game Warden reportedly has jurisdiction and will now be involved in the investigation.
