As the number of cases of the Omicron variant increase across the country, here in Texas, we've experienced a first.

A Texas man in his 50s who was unvaccinated and was already a high-risk patient who suffered underlying conditions has died according to Business Insider

The man who lived down in Harris County is believed to be the first American to die of the Omicron variant.

Yesterday here in Bell County, KWTX reported that Baylor Scott and White confirmed there's at least one case of the variant in both Mclennan and Bell County.

Health officials say this variant is highly contagious and are currently trying to track who came in contact with those with it.

Reportedly, the delta variant took 4-5 days to spread, this variant takes only 1-2 days.

While there is a major concern about just how contagious the new Omicron variant is, the consistent message is that this particular variant of the COVID-19 virus is very mild.

Health experts also advise the public to get vaccinated and get tested before visiting their loved ones this holiday season.

If you are traveling take extra precautions, use hand sanitizer, wear a mask, and try to social distance yourself as much as possible.

Here Are 6 New Businesses That Opened In Killeen, Texas in 2021

I've watched the local news for a long time just to get in tune with current events weather etc.
Once a week there used to be a food critic who had a feature on the news, and he would visit different restaurants in the city and taste their food on camera.

Tamika, one of our account executives here at the station, saw the same types of food reviews on the news and suggested it would be a good idea that I do the same thing with businesses and restaurants here in Killeen.

And here we are today!

So far, I've visited 5 Killeen restaurants and one out in Temple with 6 different vibes and food choices.

7 Memorable Temple, Texas Moments from 2021

This is the cool time of the year where we can go back and check out the last 12 months' events, and my oh my was it quite an eventful year.

Last week I showcased 6 memorable Killeen moments from 2021, let's check out 7 memorable moments from Temple, Texas in 2021.

Temple, Texas is the 49th most populous city in the great state of Texas that clocked in over 82,000 residents according to the U.S. 2020 Census that's more than 10,000 more people that have moved to the area since 2010.

Temple's population has grown which has brought more businesses to the area, and it also has beautiful houses, check these out!

Temple is also a perfect place to go if you don't want to travel so far but still getaway check out these VERY NICE Temple Airbnb's.

Looking back, Temple has had just as many memorable moments in 2021 as Killeen.

From the poor lady who was hit in the face with the soup by the rude worker (that story gained national headlines by the way) to us not even knowing there was a Temple Food Truck park downtown (I just found out about two weeks ago) to the catalytic converter thief and who could forget the Temple woman who was featured on Outrageous Pumpkins?

These are 7 memorable moments that happened in Temple Texas in 2021.
