Man Jailed in Killeen Following Animal Abuse Allegations
The saying "man’s best friend" has always been taken seriously here in Texas. Pet owners in the Lone Star State are very devoted to their fur babies, treating them like family. But according to KWTX, 45-year-old Jeffrey Yuzon Ignacio didn’t get the memo. He has been charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals, harassment, resisting arrest, and driving with a suspended license.

Why Was This Killeen Man Arrested for Animal Cruelty?
According to online records, Jeffrey is being held on a $113,000 bond. He was arrested on July 5 for allegedly intentionally, knowingly, and recklessly torturing a pit bull, causing serious bodily injuries in a cruel and inhumane manner. The warrant stated that the dog was found living in filth, in a severely neglected environment. Shockingly, the dog had an open wound and had been allowed to chew off its own hind foot. It was a horrifying scene.

Despite multiple attempts by police to contact Jeffrey, he allegedly refused to surrender the dog. He was eventually taken into custody after being stopped for outstanding traffic warrants. According to the report, he told officers, “You know what to do — it’s just going to come back to me.”Thankfully, officers rescued the pit bull, known as Dubz, from the property. She is now in Austin, receiving medical care at a local dog rescue.
