We're definitely spoiled for great food here in Temple, Texas. You can find great Tex-Mex of course, and even top-tier steak houses and Italian. If you're craving good Indian, Korean, or Thai food, we've got that too!

That said, there are some restaurants that are no longer around that many of us miss and still get cravings for.

HAVE YOU EVER?

You ever drive by an old location and think to yourself: "Man I wish (insert your favorite restaurant that doesn't exist anymore) was still around"?

Well, the same thing happened to me about two weeks ago.

>I was driving past Clem Mikeska's in Temple for lunch and a memory popped in my head about Wes's Burgers And More on 57th, and that great pizza place that once occupied the building too.

The pizza place in particular made my stomach rumble. I remember going there for lunch just a few years ago and taking my entire hour to take advantage of their pizza buffet! The different variety of pizza stuck out to me. I even remember the game area!

A few weeks ago, we asked listeners on Facebook about restaurants they missed that aren't around anymore in Temple, Texas.

Boy did we receive a great response!

Most of these businesses thrived in the 80s and 90s, but by the early-to-mid 2000's, most had closed for various reasons.

Those that remained were winding down in recent years, while restaurants like House of Lee and Doyle Philips closed when the owners retired.

So now it's time to reminisce about old breakfast spots, taco joints, Chinese and Mexican restaurants, and lunchtime favorites we used to frequent in Temple.
