Members of the Temple Branch of the NAACP along with family members and friends of 28 year old Michael Dean gathered in front of Temple City Hall on Wednesday seeking answers into the officer involved fatal shooting of the father of three.

According to our news partners News 10, Dean was shot and killed on December 2nd by Temple police officer Carmen DeCruz. Temple police immediately turned the investigation of the shooting over to the Texas Rangers and has remained tight-lipped about any additional details. Decruz has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

That silence from the TPD is why the Dean family has hired attorney Lee Merritt. Merritt along with Temple NAACP branch president Bennie Walsh spoke at the rally on Wednesday which started at Temple City Hall with a press conference then those in attendance marched through downtown to Temple PD headquarters chanting and holding up signs of support for Dean and his family.

Townsquare Media Digital Managing Editor Aaron Savage attended the rally and shot the video below of the press conference and march and you can watch it uncut and unedited. We will keep you updated on this story as soon as more information is released.
