Tuesday got off a busy start for Temple firefighters.

Temple Fire and Rescue Public Information Officer Santos Soto III reports that firefighters were dispatched to a possible structure fire in the 800 block of East Avenue C at 6:45 AM.

When they arrived, they saw that a home at 803 E. Ave. C was engulfed in flames and emitting heavy smoke.

Firefighters were able to quickly knock back the flames enough to allow entry into the house. Once inside, they were able to extinguish it.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and no one is believed to have been home at the time of the fire.

The fire marshal's office is investigating the cause of the blaze.

Temple Fire and Rescue responded with 8 apparatus and 21 firefighters assisted by Temple police and EMS.
