Gunfire rang out in Killeen's Long Branch Park late Monday evening resulting in one teen hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

KWTX reports Killeen police got a call about shots in the park just after 11 PM. When they arrived they learned that there was a shooting victim still in the park.

The victim was a teenage boy who was taken to Darnell Medical Center and is expected to be alright. Witnesses say a dark-colored vehicle pulled up to the park and fire several rounds in the direction of teens who had gathered in the park for a back to school event and stayed after it ended.

Long Branch Park officially closes at 11 PM. Anyone with information about this shooting should contact Killeen police or Crime Stoppers.
