Protests

The first amendment gives all citizens, in Texas or any other state, the right to "peacefully assemble". You have the most freedom if you hold your gathering in a public place ... a park, public sidewalk, public thoroughfares, outside government buildings, etc. Just don't block access to buildings or inhibit normal business/activity.

3 states, including Texas, have pretty much completely done away with the right to organize mass protests ... and they didn't violate any civil rights.

On Monday, Houston police arrested eight people for trespassing at Texas Senator Ted Cruz's residence while protesting climate change amid the state's ongoing power crisis.

The FBI is warning that more protests could take place around the nation.

The protesters were given permission from Dallas city leaders on Monday, to paint the large "BLACK LIVES MATTER" lettering in front of Dallas City Hall. It is being painted in washable paint.
