Blue Bell just got another boost in its climb back to ice cream supremacy, as the FDA has officially identified a third-party cookie dough supplier as the source of Litsteria contamination that prompted a recall late last year.
Blue Bell Ice Cream is recalling select products containing chocolate chip cookie dough from third party supplier Aspen Hills due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Representatives with Blue Bell Creameries announced this week that new safety procedures led to the detection of what may be Listeria in one of its plants, but stressed that no Blue Bell products have tested positive for the bacteria.
