Mary Fields, also known as Stagecoach Mary, was the first black female postal carrier and the second female United States Postal worker. Born as a slave sometime in 1832,  Mary stood 6 feet tall and weighed approximately 200 pounds. She usually had a pistol strapped under her apron and a jug of whisky at her side.

I find it very disturbing that most of today's youth have no idea what the Underground Railroad was. Most of today's youth have no clue of Black History either. To make matters worse, we had a Real Housewife of Atlanta, whose grandfather was apart of the Civil Rights movement, think the Underground Railroad was an actual train system. This is so sad.
