An 18-year-old man turned himself in to Coryell County authorities Thursday in connection to a deadly Temple hit-and-run.

A warrant charging Nikeya Sherrod Crumb was issued Thursday May 9. Temple PD Media Relations Specialist Cody Weems reports that Crumb turned himself in to the Coryell County Sheriff's Department later that day.

Police believe Crumb was involved in the death of 54-year-old Mario Arriaga of Temple on the night of Monday, March 11. Police found Arriega lying in the road in the 1500 block of Scott Boulevard. He was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital, where he later passed away as a result of his injuries.

Jail records indicate that Crumb was booked into the Coryell County Jail at 10:35 AM Friday, May 10. He remained in custody Monday afternoon in lieu of bonds totaling 200,000. His charges were listed as "ACCIDENT INVOLVING SERIOUS BODILY INJURY(BELL CO)" and "TAMPER/FABRICATE PHYSICAL EVIDENCE(BELL CO)".
