Attention students at Killeen Independent School District: remember when you thought you had Monday, March 21 off as a staff workday/student holiday?

Don't shoot the messenger here. Blame mother nature, but Killeen ISD has decided to use that day as a make-up day.

Spring Break

Spring Break for the students who attend Killeen ISD is March 14 through the 18. The good news here is that the make-up day is the Monday after Spring Break, so it's not like you won't be able to enjoy some rest and relaxation. You can still sleep in the entire week. Spring Break will just be a day shorter than what you may have been planning.

Bad Weather Make-Up Day

Remember when school closed on Thursday, February 24th because of freezing rain and dangerous road conditions? Well, it came at a price. The Killeen ISD Board of Trustees needed to make up that day, so they decided to revise the academic calendar for the current school year and make Monday, March 21 a bad weather make-up day.

Spring Forward

Not to pile on here, but that is the first Monday following the beginning of Daylight Savings Time, meaning you'll "Spring Forward" early Sunday morning and lose an hour of sleep. Many of us are still trying to recover from that lost hour on the Monday after Daylight Savings Time begins.

Killeen ISD Early Release March 11

Here's another thing that's changed: Friday, March 11 is still an early release day for Killeen schools, but instead of releasing two hours early, they'll release 90 minutes early. So if you already had plans in place to pick up the kiddos, just know you've lost half an hour.

Valuable Lesson

If there's anything to be learned from all of this, it's that there's a price for everything. Take a day off in February, pay for it in March.

Blue Bell Ice Cream On The List of Top 15 Brands Nationwide

Blue Bell is the official ice cream of Texas, and my personal favorite. According to a new list of the 15 best brands of ice cream nationwide, Blue Bell was ranked in the middle.

In addition to ingredients, texture, and variety, Tasting Table used Influenster and other site reviews as part of its ranking process.

Scroll on to find out how Blue Bell compared to the number one ice cream, and how all 15 on the list were judged.
