A man suspected of shooting someone at The Spot Bar & Restaurant in Killeen last weekend is now in custody.

37-year-old Robert Theodore Jones was in the Bell County Jail late Friday night charged with third degree felony unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. A motion to revoke parole was also listed on his jail roster card, which also reported that he was booked into the jail at 10:02 AM Friday. No bond data was listed.

Jones was arrested Friday around 8:30 AM after the United States Marshals Service's Lone Star Fugitive Task Force located him in the 3000 block of Dannen Court.

Around 2:18 AM Sunday, February 28, Killeen police officers were dispatched to The Spot at 10540 South Fort Hood Road after receiving a 9-1-1 call about a shooting victim. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from several gunshot wounds and rendered first aid until paramedic arrived. The victim was transported to Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple in critical but stable condition. Police said Friday that the victim had been released from the hospital, but they did not release details about his condition.

According to police, a preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was standing near the rear patio area of the business when Jones allegedly opened fire on him.

The shooting was reportedly captured on surveillance footage, and police released a still image from the video on March 1 in hopes of the public helping them identify the suspect.

You may be wondering why Jones hasn't been charged with a more serious crime than illegal possession of a firearm. Well, police said Friday that the case remains under investigation and that additional charges are pending.
