KWTX is reporting that 41-year old Shana Tedder of Killeen died last Friday, June 9, after a described "use-of-force" incident involving an inmate at the Christina Melton Crain Unit in Gatesville.

It seems Tedder was complaining of being short of breath after the altercation. She walked to a place to rest, then collapsed. Life-saving measures were started and 911 was called, but paramedics were unable to revive her.

According to the Officer Down Memorial Page, Tedder passed away due to a suspected heart attack. She served with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 12 years.

A wake will be held tonight (Friday) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 South Fort Hood Road, in Killeen. Her funeral will begin at Noon on Saturday at the same place, and she will be laid to rest at the Killeen City Cemetery.
